Philosophy

The staff in the ECE program value children as our most important resource and investment in the future. We believe that each child is unique and that young children should be nurtured in a safe, developmentally appropriate environment that encourages each child’s growth in all areas including self-esteem, language and literacy, social and emotional development, and cognitive and physical growth.

 

Location

The ECE program is located at located at the Deer Creek Elementary School campus and operates on the Platte Canyon School District Calendar.

Programs

Deer Creek Preschool is a fully integrated, multi-age program for children 3-5 years of age. Programs include Special Education, Colorado Preschool Kindergarten Program, and Private Pay.

Special Education

Children who are identified as developmentally delayed may receive motor therapy, speech and language therapy, and other services depending on each child’s needs.

Colorado Preschool Kindergarten Program

Children may qualify for a tuition waiver by demonstrating a risk factor in their environment that may affect later school success.

Private Pay

Child may pay tuition to attend preschool. Tuition for the 2009-2010 school year is $2000 for the 4 day program or $222 each month and $1000 for the 2 day program or $111 each month.

Sessions

Morning sessions: 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Afternoon sessions: 1:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

 

Children may attend:

Monday and Wednesday or
Tuesday and Thursday or
Monday through Thursday

Child Find

Children from birth to five years of age living in the Platte Canyon School District are eligible to have a developmental screening and evaluation. This includes speech/language skills, motor skills, cognitive and social emotional development, vision and hearing screening. Child Find is a free community screening service for all children. It is conducted throughout the year on a referral basis and in April of each year as a Community Screen. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please contact:
