Get to Know Our Staff

Mr. Gumm is a native of Colorado, coming from a family of 5 kids (4 boys one girl).   He graduated from college with a math degree and has had SEVERAL jobs over the years including construction, fire protection designer/engineer, Platte Canyon school bus driver, and PCHS math teacher to name a few.   Mr. Gumm enjoys teaching math to kids (even if MATH is a four letter word).   The kids make the job!! His spare time is divided between his fire protection company, woodworking, exercise and home life.

Mr. Walpole grew up in Evergreen.   He received his BA from Adams State College and his Master's in History from the University of Wyoming.   An avid outdoorsman, he spends many weekends hiking in the mountains with his hearing dog Max.   Mr. Walpole has received national recognition for his photography and, for his academic achievements, had the Adams State College McDaniel - Walpole Scholarship named in his honor.   Mr. Walpole enjoys showing his students the connections between historical and current events and has also dedicated considerable time with an overseas paramilitary NGO, assisting children who have fallen victim to child slavery.

Mr. Hanford is a Colorado native growing up in Ft. Collins. He received his B.S. from Colorado State University, and Master of Education from Regis University. He enjoys traveling with his wife and is always looking forward to the next trip they will take. One of his favorite activities is backpacking with his wife and dog. He enjoys teaching Earth Science since it is visible in the world around us.
