IRIS
(Immediate Response Notification System)

We want to ensure that we can communicate with you in a timely manner about issues affecting the schools and your student. To enhance our channels of communication, the District has contracted to use IRIS (Immediate Response Information System).

With this system, the District can quickly send messages by phone, pager and e-mail to all school families and staff. We will use this service for school closings, delayed openings and early dismissals due to inclement weather, and school emergencies. We will also use it to notify you of any activity and athletic cancellations, rescheduled events, attendance notifications and other school news or reminders.

Managing Your Contact Information

All messages will be sent to the primary household phone number that is currently on file at your child’s school. You may list up to two additional phone numbers, one pager number and two e-mail addresses. If you choose not to include additional contacts, messages will go to your primary phone number only.

To add phone numbers and/or e-mail addresses, you may log on to the IRIS Web site at www.useiris.com  and follow the instructions that you should have received from your child’s school. If for some reason you did not receive the information or have questions or concerns, please contact Joyce Spangler at 303-838-7666 ext. 1616. If you do not have access to the Internet, you may fill out the appropriate form at your child’s school office and request that they make changes for you. Please be sure to update your contact information if it changes in the future to ensure that you receive messages promptly.

How to log on to IRIS

When logging on to the IRIS Web site, your username will be the initials pc and your child’s current student ID number. Your password will be your child’s eight digit birth date. If you have multiple children in the district, you must update each child separately.

Example:

Username = PC and your student’s ID number:
(ID # will be provided by your child’s school)
pc 1544
Password = Your student’s eight digit birth date:
(May 18, 1989)
05181989

For security purposes, once you have successfully logged in, change the password to one that is unique to you. Delete the field where your password is listed, type the new password, and then confirm it.

Please be sure to update your information if it changes in the future to ensure that you receive messages promptly.

Participation Options

If you choose not to participate and would like your contact information removed from the IRIS system, please provide your child’s school office with a written request. Another option available by written request to the school – is to receive only emergency (Red Alert) IRIS notifications. With this option, you would not receive general announcements.
