POSITION Assistant Principal
LOCATION Deer Creek Elementary School
SCHEDULE 2011-2012 School Year; 210 days per approved academic calendar
SALARY Salary based on experience

QUALIFICATIONS
- Colorado Principal’s License.
- A minimum of two year’s experience as a licensed teacher or administrator.
- First Aid & CPR Certification obtained within 90 days following the first date on the job.
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
Reports to: Principal
Primary Function: Fulfill school administrative duties and responsibilities as specifically assigned by the Principal. Such duties and responsibilities shall be listed in writing at the beginning of the job assignment and updated as necessary. It shall show which of the Principal’s duties have been delegated to the Assistant Principal.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the Acting Principal in the absence of the Principal.
- Maintain an ongoing effort to promote positive relationships with staff, students, parents and the community. (See Policy 701 – Positive School-Community Relations and Policy 702 – Student-community Relations.)
- Prepare reports as requested by the Principal.
- Be familiar with and abide by Federal and Colorado laws, Board of Education policies, District Regulations, and school procedures that relate to employment with the District. (See Policy 307, Article 1 – Staff Responsibilities.)
Evaluation
Assistant Principals are evaluated annually by Principals. Evaluation is to be based upon performance expectations based upon assigned duties and from the applicable standards established for the evaluation of Principals:
