POSITION Food Service Worker - Part Time
LOCATION Deer Creek Elementary School Cafeteria
Or Fitzsimmons Middle School/Platte Canyon High School Kitchen

Reports to Kitchen Manager
SCHEDULE 2010-2011 School Year. 173 days per year based upon Board approved academic calendar. 5 hours per day, 5 days per week. The Food Service Worker position is a Classified “at-will” position.
SALARY Starting salary range for Food Service Worker is currently set at $8.60 - $9.12 Per Hour based upon Board approved 2009-2010 Classified Salary Schedule and previous experience. The Classified Salary Schedule for 2010-2011 has not yet been approved. Initial placement on the salary scale is determined by previous experience in the related field. Credit is given for a maximum of three (3) years previous experience at 2% credit for each year. Eligible for PERA retirement plan and Sick/Personal days earned at 1 day per every 20 days actually worked. Part time employees are not eligible for insurance benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- “Clear” background check through submission of fingerprint card to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the FBI.
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful performance of the assigned duties for Food Service Worker.
- Ability to read basic operating instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Good Health - A certification of good health may be required. Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with staff and administration.
- First Aid and CPR Certification.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Cafeteria Manager in food services.
- Demonstrates knowledge of work and required skills.
- Assists in serving of food as directed by the Cafeteria Manager.
- Assists in the clean-up of the kitchen and service areas.
- Cooks may also be required, as directed by the Food Service Supervisor or Cafeteria Manager, to assist in other reasonable duties (e.g. cashiering) related to food services.
- Demonstrates acceptable quantity and quality of work (e.g. neatness, thoroughness, accuracy).
- Demonstrates dependability and enthusiasm (e.g. displays dependability and enthusiasm in performing assigned tasks).
- Adheres to Board policy and regulations.
- Serves as a positive liaison between the school and community (e.g. public relations).
- Supports student activities (e.g. promotes school spirit through attendance at events).
- Demonstrates effective relations with others (e.g. relates easily to other staff members and works in cooperation with others) to get results.
- Communicates effectively with others.
- Demonstrates high professional standards (e.g. dress and grooming).
- Participates in the writing of personal goals and objectives which demonstrates the ability to develop professionally.
