POSITION  Full-Time Teacher - Language Arts/Reading – 7th

LOCATION  Fitzsimmons Middle School

SCHEDULE  2011-2012 School Year:

SALARY   Per Board approved salary schedule based on degree, credits And teaching experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance and Sick/Personal days

QUALIFICATIONS

• Quality preparation in the areas of Language Arts and Reading.
• Colorado Teaching License with appropriate endorsement.
• First Aid and CPR Certificate or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Instruction of Language Arts and Reading in a classroom setting based on approved curriculum.
• Specific areas of instruction include: writing, speaking, vocabulary and spelling, grammar, research skills and study skills.
• Assess student needs, progress and achievement; diagnose and remedy weaknesses.
• Must exhibit excellent classroom management skills which enhance learning; maintain sound control over student behavior; and effectively manage transitions from one activity to another.
• Prepare and use effective instructional strategies using appropriate teaching materials.
