Library/Media Manager
POSITION Fitzsimmons/Platte Canyon High School Reports to Fitzsimmons/ Platte Canyon High School Principal
SCHEDULE 2011-2012 School Year. Part-time 5 hours per day, 185 days per year. No Benefits.
August through May. The Library/Media Manager position is an at-will position.
SALARY Beginning salary range is $11.75 - $12.46 per hour based upon Board approved 2010 - 2011 Classified Salary Schedule. Initial placement on the salary scale based upon previous experience in a related field. Annual pay is divided equally by 12 months and paid monthly on the last business day of each month.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have ONE of the following: 1. At least 48 credit hours completed at an institute of higher education; OR, 2. An associate’s (or higher) degree; OR, 3. Must be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics. (Testing is administered through the School District).
- Clear background report through fingerprint submission to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
- Physical ability to do some lifting.
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with staff and administration.
- Ability to be flexible.
- Knowledge of audio-visual equipment, office equipment, library procedures and Internet preferred.
- First Aid and CPR Certificate or ability to obtain one.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with the processing of orders, reports, bibliographies, forms, library schedules, letters to publishers, cataloging, etc.
- Assists in the ordering of books and computer software, etc.
- Assists in the maintenance and filing of computer file updates, publishers catalogs, etc.
- Makes simple repairs on damaged books and other media.
- Responsible for the care of audio-visual equipment and computers.
- Assists in the supervision of students in the library.
- Assists students in library research.
- Assists students and staff in locating needed materials.
- Performs reasonable clerical duties as requested by the assigned supervisor and/or principal.
- Performs other reasonable clerical duties as requested by the assigned supervisor and/or principal.
- Attends meetings as requested by the assigned supervisor and/or principal.
- Provide instructional leadership by selecting resources supporting curriculum, teaching strategies and student interests, abilities, and learning styles.
- Promote utilization of library/media resources, including assisting faculty in selection and use of learning resources and new technologies.
- Manage the acquisition, organization, distribution, maintenance and inventory of resources.
- Prepare and monitor a library/media services budget.
- Other duties per Library/Media Specialist job description.
