Mary Hogan Chan retired from education in Illinois in 2002 after 30 years of service. Dr. Chan finished her doctorate in 2005 and returned to teaching at Deer Creek Elementary in 2007. In 2008 she transferred to PCHS to use her areas of expertise.

Terry Walderman

Mrs. Walderman was born in New York and migrated to Conifer with her family in 2002. She received her MA and BA from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She completed her Teacher License at Western State in Gunnison. Mrs. Walderman divides her time between raising five children with her husband Bruce, and working in education. For all of her teaching career, Terry has worked in the field of special education. She believes in having high expectations for her students and challenging them to always do their best. In her spare time, you might find Terry hiking with her four dogs, four wheeling in her Jeep, or playing softball.

Risa Arseneault

Ms. Arseneault grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, majoring in Anthropology. Following her graduation, she worked for three years as an assistant to the Behavior Specialist in El Paso County School District #11.
She attended the University of Northern Colorado to complete her Masters Degree in Special Education-Profound Needs with an additional emphasis in teaching culturally and linguistically diverse students with low incidence disabilities. Her love of Colorado and the beautiful scenery of the Rocky Mountains, as well as her appreciation for small towns and school districts, led her to a teaching position in Platte Canyon School District.
Ms. Arseneault has taught students at FMS and PCHS (ages 12-21) with severe cognitive disabilities and profound disabilities since 1999. She has been a member of the Mt. Evans BOCES Multidisciplinary Assessment and Planning Team since 2002. In 2007, Ms. Arseneault began coaching the Fitzsimmons Middle School Speech Team.
Teaching is her passion in life.
She has 2 daughters that are full of boundless energy, personality and passion. They keep her busy with dance class and 4-H meetings. She loves visiting with family and friends. Ms. Arseneault is also a great fan of music and enjoys attending concerts during the summer.
Generally, she does not have any spare time, but when she does, she enjoys her quiet and peaceful mountain home in South Park, Colorado.

Ms. Terry was born and raised in Colorado. She worked in the telecommunications industry for 27 years, AT&T, Mountain Bell, AVAYA, Lucent, and Aceenture. She decided to go into Public Education in 2003 and joined the Special Education Department at Fitzsimmons Middle School and Platte Canyon High School. She believes in her heart that this was one of the best decisions she has ever made. She loves animals (of all kinds), working with children, and riding ATV’s with her husband. She has lived in Bailey since 1980 and feels that, "It is the only place to live". Ms. Terry is also an avid ELVIS fan.
